Rockstar letter: GTA Online ‘shattered records,’ Red Dead Online 2’s $5 sale is ending soon

Rockstar was crowing about its two online virtual worlds this past week in a new letter to the community. Because of the support fans showed for Grand Theft Auto Online and Red Dead Online in 2020, Rockstar said that both games saw spectacular numbers.

GTA Online shattered its own records once again, with more players than any previous year,” the studio said. “Red Dead Online also experienced more players, and more new players, this past December than any time since the launch of the beta.”

Rockstar is also handing out gifts in both games. Red Dead Online players can nab a free horse, coat, and stable slot, among other goodies. Over in GTA Online, a special studio cap and T-shirt are going to be added to players’ wardrobes.

If you’ve been thinking about snapping up Red Dead Online, move quickly, because it’s only going to be on sale for $5 until February 15th.

Well duh, they literally gave it away for free…

How GTA Online can be that popular is honestly beyond me.

The loading screens of that game make it borderline unplayable.

Reading this just makes me sad. No more single-player dlc for Rockstar games. Would have loved more story in Red Dead and GTA.
