The Daily Grind: What should Crowfall do at this point?

So things do not appear to be going great for Crowfall. I don’t like typing that sentence, but what else can be said? The latest rumor is that the studio is considering shuttering the game just to conserve what money it has, and while that rumor has been more or less dismissed by at least one official source, it also sounds just this side of plausible. That is not what anyone would plausibly consider “good news.” It’s dodgy and it feels worrying.

So let’s turn the question over to you, dear readers. What do you think Crowfall (and in a larger sense, Artcraft as a company) should do at this point? Figure out a true free-to-play transition? Stay the course? Get itself on Steam? Abandon Crowfall altogether as a failed project? Try to pivot the game’s focus in some way? Go all in on the second game? It definitely seems like what’s been done so far hasn’t been working, but what should the studio be doing instead, if anything?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
