MMOs are video games. You are not going to save people’s lives most of the time, and even if you do it’s going to be by being a compassionate voice when one is needed. And yet there are still moments wherein someone behaves heroically. The tank who takes on both targets in a raid even though she can’t hold them for long because she’s counting on the group downing the boss before she dies. The low-level player drawing threat to keep someone from dying. The non-healer with a resurrection spell dropping everything to get people back on their feet in a difficult fight. You get the idea.
Sure, it’s only heroic in-context, and in a larger scope it’s mostly just saving you a little bit of time and effort. But it’s still notable and impressive, and that’s what matters most.
