The Daily Grind: Do you play MMOs more or less than you used to?

I try – try – to live by the rule that if I wouldn’t get up early to play games, I shouldn’t stay up late for them either. But it’s a challenge since “late” is often the block of time I have to really get immersed in an MMO. Time is always my struggle. Like many of you, I had much more of it when I was younger and had few obligations. I had no useful time at all when my kids were babies, but I’ve reclaimed a lot of that time now that my kids are a smidge older and don’t require constant surveillance, and now nothing beats a rainy day with all my life chores done and nothing in front of me but a sandpark MMO.

That also makes the time I’m spending much more precious to me than when I was a teenager, so I want to get more out of it and demand much more intensity from the games. It’s not casual; it’s discerning.

So while I know “more” isn’t always better, I’m still curious: Do you play MMOs more or less than you used to? How many hours a day/week?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
