The Daily Grind: Do you take part in any player-run MMO holiday celebrations?

Cats are cats.

The holidays are the time when you learn how many people know who you are and want to have you around because that’s what determines how many parties you get invited to. This is as true in MMOs as it is anywhere else. If most of your good friends are online, this is more than likely the space where most of your holiday gatherings can actually take place. And that’s not a bad thing! Heck, it can be downright nice to meet with people who you otherwise couldn’t meet up with even if it’s just in a virtual space and can’t get a proper hug.

But not everyone is really up for that, and while there are a lot of player-run events in various games ranging from private parties to big blowouts where everyone gathers for a singular event, some people prefer not to go. Maybe you find virtual parties just as awkward as real ones. Maybe you have too much real-life stuff going on. Maybe you just don’t find the celebrations interesting. Do you take part in any player-run MMO holiday celebrations, or do politely decline the whole habit?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
