Nexon unveils global plans for a cross-platform open world action RPG based on the Dungeon Fighter IP

It’s a side-scrolling beat-em-up MMO. It’s a fighting game. And sometime in the future, it’s going to be an open world action RPG. It’s the Dungeon Fighter franchise, and that last game is the next title that Nexon has in the oven for a later global release.

The new title is codenamed Project DW, and while specific information is sparse, the press release confirms the aforementioned launch plan and gameplay style, along with plans for a cross-platform release for PC, consoles, and mobile. The presser also notes that Project DW is a separate title from other in-development games from the IP such as Dungeon and Fighter: Overkill and Arad Chronicle: Kazan.

Beyond that, there isn’t much new to share about this new project – not even any imagery or trailer – so fans of the DFO franchise might want to prepare to wait for a long while yet. Still, we at least know that this is going to be a thing. Eventually.
