The Daily Grind: How open are you with people you know in your MMO of choice?

All right, you live your truth.

When I was growing up back in the days when dinosaurs roamed the Earth, everyone was wildly adamant about being safe on the internet. This included such safety precautions as never giving your real name out to anyone online, never stating where you lived, and only allowing anyone to be 50% certain you were actually a real human being and not just seven very smart possums in a trench coat. This means that I am continually baffled by how the modern youth consensus appears to be that you should introduce yourself as Examplename O’Fictionalperson (of the Kilkenny O’Fictionalpersons) living at 123 Sample Address Road, Town Name, KL 55555.

But we’re not here to make a big deal out of that particular aspect of how you may or may not live; right now, the big question is how you handle dealing with other people on MMOs where you know the other person. Do you tend to let your fellow players know your real name and/or where you live? Do you keep it vague with them, even if you like them? This isn’t about strangers but just about your fellow players. So how open are you with the people you know in your MMO of choice?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
