The Daily Grind: Which MMO has the most satisfying classes?

Skeleton dance forever.

Not every MMO has classes. Sometimes that’s more a function of strict definition than anything; sure, your character can technically do anything, but as a practical point you’re either going to be a fragile caster, a stealthy attacker, or a tanky armor-guy. Other times the system is actually pretty freeform. But there are a lot of MMOs that do have classes, often a lot of classes, and what those classes can do varies a lot depending on the game and player creativity.

But more classes isn’t always better. Maybe you found a game that offered just seven choices to be more satisfying than one with two dozen. Maybe you really love the subtle spins that Lord of the Rings Online puts on standard classes to make things just a little different, or you’re a big fan of Blade & Soul’s unique lineup. So which MMO do you feel has the most satisfying classes – or had, if it’s an MMO that has sadly sunset?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
