New World devs discuss incorporating player PTR feedback to the live build

The latest episode of New World’s Forged in Aeternum is up as of last night, with Amazon’s David Verfaillie, Patrick Smedley, and Katy Kaszynski deep-diving the point and process of the game’s public test realm. Kaszynski stresses that the team wants players to play normally on the PTR and then offer feedback on the forums, while Smedley notes some of the player feedback that the studio acted on in the first season – most notably, the creation of passive season experience, the setup of the activity card, and quality of the boss fights and story.

Testers also apparently complained during the PTR test run about needing multiple ward types against the bosses in the new dungeons; Amazon swapped the bosses so they all use the same ward types within the single dungeon.

“We are listening to your feedback, and we are 100% going to be incorporating that feedback into future seasons,” lead seasons designer Patrick Smedley says, “so while you might not see it immediate changes, we’re listening.”
