The Daily Grind: Has an MMO community ever gone out of its way to welcome you?

I confess to becoming more than a little hot under the collar when I heard that Funcom had pulled the plug in the most ungracious fashion on Anarchy Online’s long-running ARK (Advisors of Rubi-Ka) program.

Anarchy was effectively my first MMORPG, and the ARK team even back in 2002 was incredibly welcoming and helpful to get me on board with this complicated game. Every time I returned, ARK was there to answer questions and deliver encouragement. It’ll be missed.

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
