Cross-platform spellcasting MMO Wizard’s Wrath cancels its Kickstarter campaign

Were the promises too grand, the scope too big, or the marketing too small? No matter what the reason, Wizard’s Wrath saw a miserable Kickstarter campaign this past month and decided to cancel it rather than see it through.

The “cross-platform VR spellcasting MMORPG” aimed to raise over $62,000 through crowdfunding but only reached $1,414 from 16 backers before pulling the plug on the Kickstarter campaign. According to a short message from the UK-based developer, it doesn’t sound as though Wizard’s Wrath itself is canned, although progress forward will be more difficult without funding.

Thanks so much for your support,” the dev posted. “As we draw close to the final days it is clear that as an indie developer reaching my audience through Kickstarter is a challenge. I’ve decided to cancel the project but will continue to push toward release. All those who have backed, please opt in for updates and I will keep you posted on progress. Thank you for joining my journey!”
