New World hosts a community-themed event to bide time until June’s big reveal

If you’ve gotten past your grudge against New World for bleeping its secret plan reveal, the fantasy MMO actually is running a neat little event right now. Community Convergence is scheduled through June 3rd and “is packed with contests, player spotlights, XP bonuses, a special players’ choice Twitch Drop, and more to give back to every adventurer.”

For example, during this second week Amazon is giving away a rising fire bouquet for houses, running a haiku contest, and turning on a double refining XP and double character XP for this weekend.

If we’re all being candid here, this Community Convergence event is a way to bide some time until Amazon delivers its promised June reveal of a major announcement that has a large segment of the community sitting on the edge of its gamer chairs. What will this announcement cover? We don’t know yet, but we have theories.
