This, but without the camraderie and friendship.

Today, July 3rd, marks the launch date of the deeply unique modern world MMORPG The Secret World, which has been online for 12 years now but hasn’t seen any new major updates since 2016. And though Funcom has been more focused on survival sandboxes linked to major IPs, the company did turn its gaze in the direction of the MMO in a brief address on Twitter.

The message is little more than a nod that releasing the game happened and a small thank-you note to the playerbase. “Another throwback, The Secret World released on this day 12 years ago!” the message simply reads. “Whether you were a Templar, Illuminati, or Dragon, thank you for protecting the world from occult threats.”

As we reported before, the existing TSW community has taken it upon itself to actually celebrate the anniversary with a player-run bash, which hopes to repopulate lower level zones and encourage dungeon runs and PvP battles.
