We won’t be covering this game too much owing to the fact that it’s a purely single-player experience, but it’s worth touching on lightly as it’s from Bethesda Softworks and may be of interest to Elder Scrolls Online fans and folks who play Fallout Shelter. It’s The Elder Scrolls: Castles, a new mobile game that grants players the chance to run their own royal dynasty in the world of Tamriel from their favorite game-capable phone.
“This new adventure puts players in control of their very own castle and dynasty in The Elder Scrolls universe,” the studio says. “Oversee your subjects and make rulings as the years come and go, families grow, and new rulers take the throne.”
Each real-world day represents a year in Castles, with players in charge of tasks like training subjects, naming heirs, taking on quests, and generally keeping order in their pocket kingdom. Along the way, they’ll have to make decisions on matters that pop up like resolving spats between subjects or limiting food supplies, while their castle can be expanded with new rooms and workstations.
Castles is aiming at a worldwide release on September 10th, with pre-registration available on iOS and Android in select regions with the usual milestone-related goodies being promised. A developer deep-dive video is available for viewing below for those who are curious to learn more.
