It’s an absolute shame to consider what happened to a game as unique as Atlas Reactor, and it was possible the multiplayer gaming world wouldn’t see its like again. That doesn’t appear to be quite the case, however, as a new single-player and multiplayer title that looks to be cut from similar cloth has recently been unveiled and is making its way to Steam early access.
This is Skygard Arena, a turn-based tactical RPG that lets players command a team of three characters in both a single-player campaign mode and a titular PvP arena. The campaign’s first three chapters promise to weave a narrative for the game and provide plenty of action to secure objectives or defeat bosses, while the arena mode lets players fight against AI opponents of varying difficulty or matchmake to battle each other to earn points in 20-minute matches.
As for combat, Skygard Arena lets character combine their abilities in a single turn to unleash powerful combinations, while teams can be further customized by choosing one of two distinct personas for each champion and applying an artifact to each character that boosts stats or changes passive abilities. Early access is scheduled to begin on Monday, November 18th.
