MassivelyOP’s 2024 Golden Yachties: Best worst post

MassivelyOP’s not-so-serious end-of-the-year awards continue today with our award for the Best worst post. The Golden Yachties series is our run of fauxwards, named in honor of somebody we’ve long forgotten from Old Massively who insisted that surely we make so much money that we’re typing MMO blog posts from a gold-plated yacht. (Joke’s on you; it was always silver. Gold is too heavy.)

And the winner is…

Heroes in a half shell – but a tank now!

As tempted as I was to give this to Eliot’s post comparing MMORPGs to fast-foot joints or even my own extremely serious article on the best hot tubs in MMORPGs, I think the winner is Eliot’s lyrical piece introducing World of Tanks’ Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collab. And I do mean lyrical, as the whole post is a song set to the TMNT themesong. Posts like this just cannot be topped; they convey all the technical info and are still funny on multiple levels. They’re the internal rhymes of MMO blogging.
