Don’t count a vampire down and out just because it died once upon a time. Stunlock Studios announced that its survival horror game V Rising just crossed five million units sold over its lifetime (deathtime?).

“This milestone cements the game’s status as one of the most popular survival games of recent years, captivating players with its addictive blend of survival mechanics, intense combat, and gothic world-building,” the studio said.

Stunlock vowed to “build upon the success” of this milestone by delivering more content in 2025. Plans for the future include a brand-new biome, a new faction, a revamped progression system with stat caps, the Fusion Forge for builds, and “risk-free PvP options.”

We agree that 2024 was quite kind to V Rising; we even gave the game our Not-So-Massively Game of the Year Award this past December. As MOP’s Bree said, “It’s one of the most MMO-like not-MMO games we have, so of course our MMO people love it.”
