Lots of MMOs have combat. Not all of them, but in the vast majority of online games, you can spend a lot of time just peacefully crafting, but you will eventually need to beat up some guys. Or some dudes. Maybe even some fellas. We’re not even going to get into the number of times you need to engage in fisticuffs, much less incite a donnybrook. But one thing you can be sure of: When it comes time to instigate a fracas, the game will have some music playing.
Some MMOs start playing very specific fight music at the time, albeit usually more ornate than someone just saying, “Go punch that guy.” Others just have music in the region that brings the atmosphere of combat to mind. And of course there are places where the game knows you will be fighting a boss that can have appropriately bracing music. So which MMO has the best fight music? Which MMO starts playing a tune that puts you one hundred percent in the mindset of “heck yes, let’s beat up some dudes”?
