Some phrases absolutely never sound ominous. You can have a black cloak billowing behind you, your face cloaked in nothing but shadow except for your glowing red eyes, but I’m still not going to find the phrase “I couldn’t find the nice blue plates in the washer” particularly ominous.
Not even if you say it with a growly voice.
Other phrases that are not even remotely ominous: “Owl enclosure,” “I dropped my phone in the toilet,” “Internet Warlord,” “The LeBaron needs an oil change,” and “What Are You Playing.” That one’s pretty familiar, actually. Even comforting! You just click on down below and see what we’re up to over the weekend, then you let us know what you’re doing in the comments. Not ominous in the least.
Brendan Drain (@nyphur): With the new sovereignty changes in EVE Online, I’ve been considering applying for a territorial alliance on one of my alts. I’ve been using an alt for solo piracy and lowsec stuff for the past few years and playing it much more than my main character. It’s up to nearly 45 million skillpoints now and is still unknown, so I could probably join an alliance without any of the baggage that could come along with being a reporter and get some first hand experience of the new system.
Brianna Royce (@nbrianna, blog): My goal is to play Trove this weekend; my husband and I were thwarted by disconnections last weekend, so we’ve gotta try again!
Eliot Lefebvre (@Eliot_Lefebvre, blog): I’ve got plenty of playing and roleplaying to do in Final Fantasy XIV and nothing but time, so that’s going to eat up the lion’s share of my attention. Some Skyforge on the side would be nice, if I can manage it.
Jef Reahard (@jefreahard): Lord of the Rings Online, Star Wars: The Old Republic, and ARK: Survival Evolved for me. Oh and Assassin’s Creed: Unity.
Justin Olivetti (@Sypster, blog): I’m hoping to squeeze in a few more levels with my Bounty Hunter in SWTOR now that I’m taking advantage of the 12x subscription bonus, although I suspect that Marvel Heroes‘ Ant-Man may get the lion’s share of my attention.
Larry Everett (@Shaddoe, blog): This weekend is going to be less about what I’m doing in game and more about what my guild should do with the game. My SWTOR guild is struggling just a bit on filling raid slots for hardmode raids. Part of it is due to it being summer and players taking vacations and the like. But we are also wondering if it’s not because of the server we are on. So this weekend, we will be contemplating further on if we should move from our RP-PvE server The Ebon Hawk to a PvE server, like The Shadowlands or Harbinger. With transfers only costing 90 Cartel Coins, this would be the time to do it.
Michael Gray (@writegray): Well, I’m hosting a 3-year-old’s birthday this weekend, so my game options are going to be a little different than normal. I’m seeing some hardcore Slip N Slide in my near future, a rousing PvP match of cake eating, and a do-or-die race of Pony Rides.
That said this is the last weekend in the MAA PvP season, so this is the time to throw down and climb the ladder.
MJ Guthrie (@MJ_Guthrie, blog): I will be mostly surviving (and probably not surviving at times) in Ark: Survival Evolved. I may have unhealthy amounts of play time dedicated to this little dinosaur-filled island already, and I show no signs of stopping! I have some building projects that need work, and I have a new bird I need to tame. R.I.P Phoenix. Rumor has it we might try and summon the Brood Mother for the OPTV stream!
When I can tear myself away from that I will spend a wee bit of time in ArcheAge tending my farms and running a few trade packs and in Marvel Heroes reveling in loot, loot, and more loot. There is also the distinct possibility I will pop into Landmark and Trove both, but that depends on whether or not I decide sleep is important this weekend. For EverQuest II I’m waiting until the progression server opens next week!
Tina Lauro (@purpletinabeans): I’ll be leveling my Mesmer this weekend in Guild Wars 2. She’s been a bit neglected recently, so I’ll be dusting her off again because I want her levelled and respectfully geared for Heart of Thorns. I may also restart my bad World of Warcraft habit again this weekend! Where my Hordies at?!
Patreon Donor Jagmas (@jagmas, blog): Lots of variety for gaming this weekend. On the MMO front, Skyforge and World of Warships are both high on the list with a possible visit back to Albion Online. For everything else, I suspect Rocket League will scratch my sports itch, Guild of Dungeoneering will probably end up getting all my friends killed when I play, and I’ll need to feed my dinos at least once in Ark: Survivor Evolved.
Your turn!
