Something tells me that having fair and balanced matches in Fortnite isn’t really something that’s needed, but then I might still be a wee bit disappointed with how quickly I was wiped out during my first battle royale experience. Regardless, the battle royale shooter is looking to make some tweaks to matchmaking in order to make sure people of equal skill levels face off. So maybe it’s less about the top end and more about bad players like myself.
New matchmaking logic is due to arrive in v10.40 which should make the core modes of battle royale a bit more competitive and ultimately make you a better player. This new matchmaking update will be slowly rolled out across different regions and will be carefully monitored and tested. Details on when it’s due to arrive will be announced soon.
In other future plans for Fortnite, the game’s next season will introduce bots to the mix that should operate much like human players do. Bots will work in conjunction with the new matchmaking system, adding another layer of training to help players improve. Consequently, as your skill improves, you’ll be facing less bots during matches. Bots will not be present in Competitive playlists.
