While we already knew that Shroud of the Avatar was going to start dressing up for the best holiday on Earth (Halloween) with Release 70, all we had was a brief rundown of what’s coming. Now, however, we’ve got the candy corn-flavored patch notes to nibble on as the patch has officially gone live as of September 26th. Mmmm, candy corn. Yeah, you read that right.
Release 70 brings back Pumpkin Head and his minions to the pumpkin patch in East Vauban Foothills. Players can take on this jack o’ lantern boss with a quest to get an item to drop from him or his minions and earn a Skull Staff artifact. The Halloween fun is also in Novia and Hidden Vale with the boss-level equine Nightmare monsters that spawn randomly in those areas.
The new Release also has some other adjustments such as added DoT and improved explosion damage for the Summoned Phoenix Sun Magic ability, a full revamp of Ulfheim with new side activities and multi-stage wave battles for high-end players, and a number of other improvements to combat, player towns, and performance. All of the salient details are hiding in the patch notes to say “Boo!”
