Assigning a Pokemon as your Buddy in Pokemon Go is lovely, but most of the time it just sort of followed you around and give you candies when you walked a certain distance. With the recently unveiled Buddy Adventure features, however, your Buddy Pokemon is about to get a whole lot more useful.
For one, Buddy Pokemon will have four different Buddy Levels, each introducing perks like helping with captures, finding Souvenirs, and extra CP boosts in combat depending on level. Increasing the Buddy Level is done by increasing Affection, which involves a variety of activities with your chosen Pokemon such as feeding, playing, battling, or taking snapshots. The system will also be enhanced further with a Shared AR Experience mode, which lets players with AR+ devices take group photos with their real-life buddies and their Pokemon.
The Buddy Adventure system is due to roll out to Pokemon Go players around the world by 2020, while the Shared AR Experience mode is set to launch shortly after. You can check out the announcement post for more as well as take in this feel-good trailer below.
