Ah yes. Fashion wars! During the MOP’s discussion about which awards to give out this year, we contemplated a fashion award that would replace or accompany the character customization award. As it happens, neither made the final cut, at least for 2021. But I still thought it would be a fun one to discuss!
See, the character customization award was meant to tackle things like facial features, body types, and hairstyles. The fashion award, on the other hand, would’ve focused specifically on outfits, gear, clothes, accessories, weaponry… all the good stuff you layer on top of your toons. We might even be able to squeeze in non-character characters here, like vehicles and spaceships, for those games where you’re that instead of a bipedal critter. Ultimately, I was worried that the award would just wind up praising a cash shop rather than a game, which is not something I was eagerly anticipating. But maybe you’ll prove me wrong.
