Every year I go through the same cycle wherein I forget that eggnog doesn’t sit well with me any more, so I buy eggnog because I love eggnog. And then I have the eggnog. And then my stomach is miserable and I feel like I have made a gigantic mistake, because I have made a gigantic mistake, because eggnog doesn’t sit well with me.
This might not sound like something that’s exactly applicable to MMOs, but oh, it absolutely is. Some of us wind up doing this with games, too. We go back to games that we don’t actually enjoy year after year and then remember that we don’t like them and should not keep re-installing them. Or we get excited about the wrong games. Or we forget that a game is really good and let it fall off our radar until we get back into it and suddenly want to plug it directly into our veins. You get the idea.

Whether it’s from news stories or personal experiences, what’s the biggest MMO thing you want to remember from 2022? Bad corporate behavior? A game you really like or don’t like? Mistaken assumptions you always get reminded about? What are you hoping to not forget in 2023?
