Earlier this week, we noted that Wargaming had dropped a new trailer for World of Tanks, but the timing was far from random. In fact, the MMO is turning 14 years old, counting from the Russian launch of the game back in 2010 (it launched here in the west in 2011).
“World of Tanks’ fourteenth year was packed with excitement,” Wargaming says today in its anniversary announcement. “Together, we went deeper into Mirny-13, visited a remote asteroid, battled through Normandy, and had reasons to yell ‘Cowabunga!’ a lot. Now, let’s celebrate our favorite game’s full 14 years with a non-stop party that will last for eleven days, from August 8 through August 18!”
As part of those festivities, players will be treated to a freebie T3 premium tank, anniversary coins on daily logins, daily missions, mascot challenges, and of course, new themed goodies to spend those currencies on. Wargaming is also promising experience bonuses and discounts in the cash shop while the party’s ongoing. Happy birthday, WOT!
