Dual Universe’s myDU private server functionality is officially available today

It’s all of the great taste of Kickstarted sci-fi MMORPG Dual Universe but with your own personal spin: It’s myDU, the standalone version that offers private server hosting Novaquark announced in July, which has gone live today, August 19th.

As we reported previously, this is a separate purchase that will set players back $35 (though existing subscribers to the MMO can use three months of banked sub time to buy in as well), and while setting up a private server can be done easily, opening it to others does require some technical know-how; owning a domain name and using it to secure a server stack is highly recommended, and the server requires a program known as Docker to run.

Purchase of myDU does not include any access to the MMO itself, so those wanting the base MMO experience will have to purchase a subscription to do so. But if you’ve got thoughts on making your own personal Dual Universe, you can now do so. In case anyone missed it earlier, instructions and details await here.
