Overwatch 2 kicks off ‘competitive drive’ event, teases Halloween

With the end of Overwatch 2’s Season 12 in sight, it’s more than likely that many players are lagging behind in their climb up the competitive ladder. To help make up for this deficiency, Blizzard activated a new Competitive Drive event that’s running from now until early Monday morning.

The studio added a “Drive Meter” to each player’s UI, with incentives and progress to push to the next tier and division. “For every game you win, you’ll add Drive Score that fill the meter,” Blizzard explained. “Losing matches will cause you to lose a small amount of drive progress, however reaching each checkpoint guarantees your progress and rewards.”

The big cosmetic rewards with the Competitive Drive event are signatures, stylized backings for your BattleTag, name card, hero portrait, and play of the game highlights. Blizzard said that it plans to run at least one such event with every season going forward.

And of course, it wouldn’t be October without a Halloween tease.
