Splatoon 3’s Splatoween for Halloween is a blast from Splatoon’s past

Despite already being in maintenance mode, Splatoon 3’s making good on its promise to still hold certain seasonal events starting with Splatoween. This one’s inspired partially by Splatoon 1’s Wizard vs Knight but adds Ninja as an option, while also letting players pick up Splatoon 2’s Halloween 2018 masks from the Switch News section of the Home screen.

The event will be held from 8 p.m. EDT on October 25th to  the same time on the 27th, most likely with a prep-period starting a week before then.

While not confirmed, there could be an Easter egg coming to this battle, too. During the original Wizard vs. Knight Splatfest for Splat 1, players who wore the amiibo-gifted hat and shoes (i.e., Enchanted series for the Witch or the Fresh Fish series for the mascot outfit) would have their Splatfest shirt essentially transmoged into the matching shirt to complete the ensemble during the match – no stat changes, just getting to play Splatfest in full costume attire. No matter witch (heh) team you pick, you may want to test to see if any of the themed outfits triggers this again!
