Black Desert wrestles with weekend EU node war issues, mod ads, and disruptive players

This past weekend doesn’t appear to have been a particularly sunny one for the PC version of Black Desert, as Pearl Abyss has had to deal with node war issues that affected EU players, issue some bans to some rowdy players, and dissuade fans from using unauthorized mods and macro functions.

Problems with EU node wars sprang up this past Sunday, as nodes that had the construction mode enabled were not working as intended, forcing the studio to disengage the activity. A follow-up report issued today confirms that problems still persist to the point that EU node wars will remain unavailable until a fix is deployed after maintenance this Thursday. Affected guilds will be receiving compensation in the form of tier five triumph rewards, guild funds, and other materials.

This past Friday also saw Pearl Abyss wag a warning finger at players over “an increase in advertisements promoting macro functions/client modifications through social media and various video sharing websites.” The studio argues that using such mods opens players up to harm to their accounts and their PCs. The announcement puts a statement against the use of these functions by listing three accounts that have received permanent bans from the game for doing so, as well as bans for those engaging in “inappropriate trade” and for “disrupting gameplay.”
