Dune Awakening promises it’s still on track to meet its projected launch window

Walk without something or other.

Walking without rhythm will not attract the worm, but walking without a launch window will not attract players who are eager to see Dune Awakening be playable, and Funcom hasn’t done much more to promote the game lately beyond flashy videos. But according to a Funcom post on Twitter, the game is indeed still on schedule.

In response to a player asking for an update on the state of the game and its planned release, Funcom says, “The game is still on track to meet the release window we announced.”

We’re not sure why that response is so cagey, but the last time we got a big launch window update on the game was last August, when Funcom announced at Gamescom that it planned to launch the survival MMO in early 2025 on PC. There was no console ETA given. Last week’s video teaser also reconfirmed “early 2025.”

Of course, it’s early 2025 right now, so that means sometime in the next couple of months, presumably. Probably not tomorrow, though. Or the day after that. Look, expect at least a week’s notice; maybe start hedging your best for February or March. But it’s on track.

Earlier this month, MOP’s Justin weighed in on the hype for Dune Awakening, wondering whether it might be the big MMO of the year.
