Can't get there from here.

Shroud of the Avatar players are attempting to put together a SOTA convention this fall. Spearheaded by player Violation Clauth, the first annual event is planned for November 4th through 6th in Baltimore, Maryland.

“The goal for this Con is to create a Shroud of the Avatar themed gathering, on the east coast so that players and developers can come together, grow together, and share ideas,” writes Violation, who’s said the event’s been in planning for five months. “What we don’t want is people to attend, thinking that there will be big sponsors and expensive swag bags. The goal is to simply come together, make friends, have a great time, and talk about Shroud of the Avatar.”

The event is seeking both volunteers and funding through a GoFundMe page. While tickets will be free (apart from hotel stays), donors will be prioritized, with an attendance cap of 300. And of course the event won’t get off the ground at all without a certain level of funding ($4000), though the organizers are hoping for more to defray the costs of developer attendance with a final goal of $15,000. “Excess funds will be donated directly to Portalarium for the purpose of funding Shroud of the Avatar’s future development,” reads the site.

According to a forum post, three Portalarium developers have committed to attend.
