DCUO’s spring event is a venomous poison

Ah spring is in the air! The flowers are blooming! Trees are budding! People are dying! That’s what you get for tailoring an entire season around the strengths of DC’s Poison Ivy. So, you know, don’t mow the lawn or go get any fresh air, because you may perish from her organic booby traps.

At least you can fight her off in DC Universe Online, where the Spring Seasonal is currently up and running. Players will need to be level 10 to embark on quests to put that foliage back in its place.

By collecting seed pods and accomplishing various feats, players can thwart Ivy and earn new pets and base decor. Swamp Thing’s a part of this too, although he’s kind of the gassy part of spring. Good luck!

I see the same comments about swtor. Why do people believe that if that game dies this equals that an another mmo (that will be infinitely better )will be made? And If it is, it would still take 6-7 years to be made. If DC and Disney(star wars-marvel) want to, and think there is interest, they can have multiple companies running mmos from the same universe as they are doing with their mobile games. To be honest i dont play the game but many people that were saying “i hope the game shuts down” about marvel heroes are now posting “i miss marvel heroes so much” in reddit.

Maybe if DCUO dies off, a decent studio will step forward and make a new, modern superhero mmorpg.

One can wish.

One of the dumbest comments I’ve seen here on MoP. We don’t want games dying off bro. Period. DCUO is a great game.

People need to quit wishing for studios to die off. We aren’t going to be left with a damned thing.

What a defeatist mentality.

You have already accepted the fact that the only things we are “left with” are the older games, because the studios havent been putting out anything new and good.

Ever stop to think that as long as companies think that they can keep selling us old, tired, and obsolete products, that they dont need to bother making new ones?

Sometimes, you need to wipe the slate clean, to inspire people to produce new things to fill the void.

How in the WORLD is it a defeatist attitude? The only time people comment is when its something negative. Please, by all means, go through MoP and look at the article name then comments. Lockboxes? 100+ comments. An expansion article on WoW? 2 comments.

Daybreak issues? Or Star Citizen? 100s of comments. Ashes of Creation article? 10 comments.

It is NEVER good to ask a great game to be shuttered just because you don’t like a company. Period. Thats how we end up no MMOs at all or shit ones like The Repopulation and SotA.

Your response was a representation of a defeatist attitude because rather than being hopeful that newer, better games could be made, you instead were under the mindset of “No, dont get rid of the really old games we have or there will be nothing left!!!”.

As in, you have already accepted a present and future where the only things we have, are the older games and older studios, and nothing else.

Thats a pretty bleak future to look forward to in the mmorpg industry.
