Player structures are coming to Pathfinder Online

It’s hard to think of a sandbox game without the ability to create and dwell in player structures, but until now that feature has been missing from Pathfinder Online. Fortunately, this will change with Update 4.0 on February 19th, which promises to bring in the first wave of temporary player structures that can be used to populate the world.

The structures will come in a variety of types, from the small campfire to the long-lasting smallhold. Each structure has both a cooldown (after which it can be deployed again) and a lifespan that it will exist on the main map. The larger structures, such as the base camps and smallholds, will need to be purchased from the game’s store.

Pathfinder’s last patch, Update 3.0, came out on February 4th.

Their sub to participate in early enrollment is questionable at best.  I understand Founder’s packs, but a sub?  No.

I am fine with tab Target tbh. The biggest reasons I am not playing DF is how one man can cut through 4 players with one broadsword swing friendly and enemy alike. Then theres me trying to heal a friendly who steps at the last sec and I heal the enemy. Or vice versa with the nukers..
Its hard to stratigize and focus on pvp when you spend the whole game trying to narrow down microscopic timing and aiming with casters while melee come in swinging like a mad man and kill everything.

Still in early stages so I consider rudimentary interaction atm.  But good enough to see where they are heading.

Blackomen I hope they don’t stay on this direction. They’ve claimed that players will be able to build comparable structures via the Engineering crafting skill later on, but it remains to be seen if that will actually materialize.

DeviateFish It’s an actual structure that exists in the game world, but so far it’s only function is to restore Power. You can’t actually go inside any buildings (save for the taverns in town).

Finious pcgneurotic Both of you keep an eye on it and wait.  At this point it still plays like an early alpha product. It may be wortth paying for later on, but absolutely not at this early point in development.

Targetting is classic-style tab targeting.  You can hurt allies with careless AoE, but can’t heal enemies (yet, that’s going to change so Cleric can healbomb undead).

I might be interested in this if I wasn’t so bloody burnt out on the Pathfinder IP.  Nevertheless, I’ll give it’s a due when it comes out as a fully realized product.

pcgneurotic I would like to know the answer to this as well.
I loved DF but too many issues with sloppy DEV support and terrible class balancing.

Is this any good?
