The factionless WoW player dings level 100

World of Warcraft Shaman Doubleagent made headlines a year ago for leveling his Pandaren up to 80 and then 90 without ever choosing a faction. Now he’s pulled it off again post-Warlords of Draenor, this time barrelling up to 100, still factionless. Kotaku reports that he has been grinding away at the project by harvesting herbs and collecting exp through his other characters’ pet battles.

In other WoW news, Blizzard has posted up last week’s raid-and-dungeon Q&A video with Lead Game Designer Ion “Watcher” Hazzikostas and Community Manager Josh “Lore” Allen Friday; we’ve embedded it below. Among the highlights? “NO troll dungeon next patch. No trolls in Draenor.” They also address the content gap: “Our focus is on reducing the gap in content between final tier and next expack. We know that Siege was too long — unacceptably long. We are committed to reducing that. […] Six to seven months is good for a large raid tier; 13 months is too long.”

Just so you know, you weren’t missing much. The offending poster was using personal attacks to get his (or her) point across while simultaneously trashing XIV with very poor arguments. I call him out for it, and he didn’t take it very well. Calling me a “Queen”, while instigating all the drama, probably got too hot for the Bree Troll’o’meter.
But either way, sorry for the confusion I may have caused. :(

rlloyd3 Sythalin A job is basically an advanced part of a class. You need two different classes, one at 30, one at 15, to get different jobs.

Sythalin Not really though, i can’t think of any parallel in FFXIV that would be as insane to get to max level. Especially since you can’t get exp cross job or class. I’m trying to think of something that would be similar, but can’t. Just a job would still be pretty easy, but annoying to groups you were in.

ManastuUtakata Vexia I also don’t see why they would do anything, it’s not really affecting other players, unlike botters and exploits.

ManastuUtakata deleted_71933611_deleted_71933611_Harrier0 Walpurgisnacht This thread got really confusing when i can’t see the comments. ;)

I will say this though, I sub to both FFXIV and WoW, and both are very good games, but FFXIV does an amazing job at getting out content for all players of all types out really quickly and mostly bug free. WoW could take a lesson from them on that. The fact that FFXIV also turned around a HUGE disaster of 1.0, and is now doing great is just flat out amazing. Even if you don’t personally enjoy FFXIV, that’s something to admire.

DanielReasor EO_Lonegun Probably more fun than my “log in to do garrison duties, run lfr once a week per character”. :P

Ironweakness As a contrast, on the same day, FFXIV added a mid patch update, that had even more in it, the Gold Saucer, that has lots of different minigames to play.

Walpurgisnacht I really see zero reason they couldn’t get it done by six months, especially when zilch was done in the year or more gaps of those. They have enough people and money to do it. It’s even worse as a player who really doesn’t even care about raiding past LFR, even less content.
