Heroes of the Storm World Championship coming to BlizzCon

With the well-fought Heroes of the Dorm tournament out of the way, Blizzard is preparing an even larger community event for Heroes of the Storm that leads straight into this November’s BlizzCon.

The Heroes of the Storm World Championship will begin this summer across five major regions and culminate in an eight-team battle at the convention. Sign-ups for qualifiers are either already live or coming soon, depending on the region. The studio has shelled out a $1.2 million prize pool for the event, out of which $200,000 will go to the winning team.

Heroes of the Storm is on the verge of releasing, with June 2nd set as its official launch date.

Quite a challenge for commentators to make it sound like interesting “sport” how they try to make it sound like theres certain depth and tricks is going to be humorous.Like trying to make weaving sound like hyper sport,no offence Blizzard but world champions of what? is the winner going to be the most casual player in the world ?

Game is just ok.  Without items it is very shallow.  Not being able to swap out your power modifiers after you lvl can screw you over. Cant sell um like items and fix stuff.  Kinda hoping this doesn’t do well no likening how Blizzard is non reacting to the problems in wow and my option of them is lowing more each day.

June 2nd will be the end of DotA2, I know. I played a lot of MOBA. without the time spent playing my other 2 Steam accounts, and from DotA 1.

Playing Heroes of the Storm is like playing the genre that I love, less the toxic community of MOBA.

Love that “coming soon’ish'” part….for a video from 2011.  What year is it?  Oh, that’s right: 2015.  I guess 4 years is “soon” to them, right?

You sound threatened by the possibility of them being successful at this goal.
I’ll tell you what, if anything can at least catch up to LoL, it’s Thrall,Diablo,Raynor and Malfurion :)

And so it begins. Blizzard pushing for an aggressive push to chase, catch up, and eventually try to beat both DOTA 2 and LoL (and, to a slightly lesser extent, Smite).     However, unlike when WoW released in the perfect storm of a fledgling genre and many lucky coincidences,  this game is releasing in an over-saturated genre.  The other leaders in the genre have spent years building up their fanbase and in this turn Blizzard is trying to steal them away.  Shoe is on the other foot and yet it is still backwards.   The insanity of it all.
