Darn it all!

My new roommate wants so badly to like Defiance. She bought two of the ultimate collector’s editions after they were deeply discounted. Yet for all her desire to like the game, she just doesn’t. It’s a genuine and heartfelt effort that just doesn’t pan out, and I honestly can relate; there are games I’ve wanted to love with all my heart, but once I had my grubby paws on them, I couldn’t muster more than mild enthusiasm.

This has nothing to do with the quality of the game much of the time. I can’t quite bring myself to love Lord of the Rings Online, but it’s a top-notch game. So what about you? Are there games you want to like more than you do? Not necessarily because of a failing in the game’s design, but issues that you just can’t seem to get over?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
