Camelot Unchained’s Scouts sound pretty badass [Updated]

Camelot Unchained has revealed its Scout archetypes, and they are the Arisen, the Wisp, and the Specter. Arisen are “the most powerful of the scouts,” due to the sacrifice they make by taking their own life each day and rising again to serve their realm. Arisen may also change their size at will.

Wisps are the “fastest and hardest to kill” of all the scouts, but they’re also the easiest to see because of their glowing bodies. Last but not least, the Specters are masters of fear, and most wear a special mask. You can read further details on all three archetypes on the Camelot Unchained website.

[Update]: CityState has also released a Friday evening update that rounds up recent development happenings.

Silverbourne I think the best hype for anything should come from common folks who have watched a company create something they will enjoy. Companies that toot their own horn have never impressed me much. Which is another reason CSE has my vote for the smallest, big hearted company around who does their best to stay away from hype.

The LOL was more of a nervous laugh. Hope the rest of your weekend goes well.

Silverbourne It should not be that hard to decide.  If you like zerg play, go Viking.  The real choice is between the other two realms.  And, if you ever played DAOC that choice should not be difficult.

Siphaed Mark Jacobs Llokki No worries. And besides, who says “Time will tell” more than me right? :)

Silverbourne Thanks. We are trying to keep the hype level down, while at the same time, accurately talking about our game. It’s a fine line of course, but if we stay clear of lots of hyperbole such as “The best RvR Ever!” and simply let the Backers let us (and other people) know how they feel, that’s acceptable to me.

As I promised everybody during the KS, I wasn’t getting back on the Hype Train for this game, as I/we did with WAR. Different time, different company, and different people. :)

zotohime80 Thanks! And yes, we are trying to create classes and abilities that aren’t so alien to players that they won’t want to play them, but at the same time, making them original and interesting enough that players don’t get the “Same old, same old” vibe from them.

Thanks for checking us out, even if you don’t like RvR/PvP!

Foggye distaste Nanulak Well said Foggye, as usual.

As to RFOnline, I’ll have to do some research there. I remember when it came out but I think I played it for all of about an hour. Thanks!

Estranged LOL, thanks. I love being a dad, to my son, and at times, to my studio and Backers (as a whole) as well. :)

It’s one of the reasons I’ve always cared so much about what I/we do.

Thanks for the comment Estranged, even in jest it means a lot.

Alright, I’ll wait to see the actual combat videos in practical use before making final judgements.  Thanks again for your interactive communication and development style.
