Otherland should return to Steam soon

On its webpage, Otherland boldly and repeatedly advertises that it is available on Steam. Well, no it’s not — and it hasn’t been so for some time.

The trouble began back in late January, when Otherland was removed from the Steam store due to developer Drago requesting that the game be moved to a different account. This might have been prompted by talks to change the game to a different publisher. Ultimately, the move was more complicated than the studio anticipated, but Drago reported last weekend that Otherland should be coming back “any day now.”

The studio gave an update on the status of the game:

The reappearance of Otherland on Steam will still take a bit longer.

Let me give you an update: everything has been already set up on the new account, Steam transferred all relevant data and retained the AppIDs so the switch should not even be noticeable for existing players. While at it, the pricing for upgrades has been adjusted so that upgrading from the Standard Edition of Otherland does not cost much more than buying a higher edition right away.

Now Otherland is waiting for Steam to complete their approval process of the changes and Otherland will back in the Steam store. Since there is only one step left it should be any day now after the weekend.

I’ve played through the tutorial area only to end up completely lost. What are these skills I am given? How do I read what they do? What is happening?

What a messy, murky inception this game has had. I’ll be honestly surprised if it ends up being any more than mediocre when it finally officially launches :/

I think this game is one of those urban legend myths.  I have never seen this game on Steam.  Ever.  I check every week or so.  It’s like an Elvis sighting.

Too bad because I’d like to give it a try.

I picked up 2 copies on last Steam sale for dirt cheap $3. Activated it myself and played a bit. Few weeks later I send spare copy to my friend and he still can’t activate gift because game is removed from Steam..

I thought this game was done already as it should be  the company is insanely unprofessional and don’t deserve to reap the benefits of a loved IP

kilikgaia i feel the same.
the combat was awful, they tried to mix target combat with action combat but in the end the action was horrible.

also i didn’t like the jump animation.

the good thing is the world was so beautiful with unreal engine and story not was another fantasy world.

I loosing hope in this game. Maybe I’m in the minority, but I couldn’t login because of my IPV6 provider. IPv4 should run well.

Omg that game I looked forward too for so long! But the combat was so bad and areas so confusing with invisible walls and boring quests.
