EverQuest preps new event server for July

EverQuest is no stranger to experimenting with different server types, and next month the fantasy MMO will see its most unusual ruleset ever when it turns the switch on for Quarm.

Quarm will be an “event server” that’s not so much about progression as it is about accomplishing a significant task within a set amount of time (currently presumed to be about three months). Players will be given level 51 characters at the beginning of each event, and if they can achieve the goal by the end, they’ll get rewards to share with their characters across their account. With the debut of each event, Quarm will be wiped and players will need to make new characters to participate in the next challenge.

The first challenge is to complete all six small-scale trials in the Muramite Proving Grounds. The rewards for this include a hat, title, and choice of several tempting rewards, including a mount and a secret room that will teleport you to many places across the world.

Daybreak has a beta test for the Quarm server up today if you’re so inclined. Quarm will only be available for those who have an all-access membership.
