Alas-ta, poor Asta Online. We were pretty surprised when the game got its third lease on life earlier this year, but it appears to have been sadly abortive, as it will be shutting down once again on December 8th of this year. Cash shop items have already been made unavailable for purchase, with no words on any sort of farewell celebration before the shutdown. (We would not hold our breath on that one.)
Players who have purchased cash shop items are directed to contact Steam support regarding any sort of refunds, which seems a little unexpected under the circumstances. Installation of the game is already disabled as well, but if you’ve already got it installed, you can continue to play until the servers go off. Our condolences to players affected by the closure, although we can’t help but wonder if it’s not going to come back yet again.
Asta la vista Online.
I actually liked the game play for the first few levels I played. I found the events a little buggy. Too bad someone competent wasn’t running the reboot on this.
Just go away already.
Awwww….I played until level 25 or so, can’t remember…
It was a lot of fun as a simple WoW clone w/ Asian lore. The stat slot machine was very addicting. Some nice art design of the world. Not sure if the community was that great, tho. It had open world PvP at higher levels, I believe(which is part of the reason I stopped).
Definitely worth checking out before it sunsets. It has great “fun-factor”. Maybe, it would’ve worked best as a mobile game…
my experience mirrored yours. Also stopped about the same level.
I didn’t even bother with it because I heard it had forced open world PVP.
Nothing left
Oh dang, I missed it the first time AND the second time.
Well then I think we know whose fault it is?
Ok. It’s been three hours. Nobody gets this?
It’s Stern Face.
/e waits then totters off cursing
Even among other similar F2P titles that have come out recently, like Echo of Soul and Revelation Online, Asta stood out to me as being of particularly low quality and without anything visual or mechanical to help it stand out.
While sucky for people that did find something to like about the game, it certainly isn’t surprising. Not sure why it has been revived so many times already.
