For all the jokes about another game eating its chicken dinner, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is still doing quite well for itself on Steam. The title has just hit a milestone by having at least one million concurrent players on Steam every day for an entire year, 365 days. That’s a whole lot of people blowing one another up for an entire year, but it means the title is still the most popular game on Steam.
Of course, the record is a near thing, as the game was only barely above one million as recently as September 5th. It’s still a massive rush of popularity, but the histogram of concurrency shows that it’s not as popular as it once was. However, it did just hit a year of concurrency not dropping below a million, so it’s important to remember that “less popular” is not a synonym for “unpopular.”
