Life is Feudal merges servers ahead of massive update with huge new map and offline skill progression

If you’re a current or former player of the Life is Feudal MMO, heads-up because your world is about to change, literally. Bitbox is bringing down the Avalon server next week and moving all players to the Epleland server, which is getting a rework “to be a much deeper roleplay-focused server, as well as a comfortable place for the roleplaying community.” Well there’s a sentence I never get to type.

“All of your characters, along with all skills, stat points, alignment values, and inventory directly linked with those characters, including Trade Posts inventories, marketplace inventories, and character inventories, will be safely transferred to Epleland,” the devs promise.

So why do all this? It’s all in prep for the massive 0.2.0 update. Bitbox is planning a player counselor system, revamps for trade, raidable NPC villagers, a new skill tree, and a totally new progression system with offline skill leveling. The game map is also tripling in size. Check out all the details on the official landing page!

How is it going to be more comfortable for RP player? From what I read the game is a gank fest and glitches used to kill people and now they force non-RPer to play together with RP player? So you don’t even need an RP reason and mechanism anymore pro forma as you used to be on an RP ONLY server?

Their preferred way of getting into our base was to glitch their horses into the walls and just dismount onto the walls (hence the picture below). This also showed off the fact that they where happy to sacrifice scores of horses just to get into our base. On the plus side we never wanted for leather.

How do you RP something like this anyway?

I’m thinking about returning when the 0.2.0 update launches. It seems to have the hardcore gankfest PvP players upset that there will be some safe areas on the new map, which I take as a good sign. And it seems like they’re actually going to make territory control fights happen in the open world instead of instanced battles, which is also a huge plus.

Huh. On paper that looks cool! But the reality is when you toss a bunch of non-RPers into a RP server where ganking and forced PvP is allowed, it’s not going to be fun for the RPers. I’ll have to keep an eye on this to see how it goes.

You guys make this game sound way more exciting then it is. 90% of your time in this game is digging dirt or chopping down trees. Heck the only thing that makes that exciting is that someone my try and gank you while you do.

There is no merge, it’s a transfer of the char. You lose everything you may have built. And, in LiF, you have built a lot. So your work is lost and they told you to go to another server where other guilds have already built the better spots; is it fair?

And if you are playing in a RP-server, would you like to get the non RP players that were forced to transfer their chars to the RP server?

Also, it was a bit part, barely see him in it, just a short bit near the end.

The unofficial Theme song for LiF Diggy Diggy Hole . Altough we’d always played the ten hour version.

I am not sure how they mean it to strengthen the RP element.

Last time I checked it out was all about building up and then ganking which didnt give much room for RP

Not sure if they changed their direction
