Happy Hobbity birthday wishes to Lord of the Rings Online, which turns 12 years old this week! The Middle-earth MMO released in 2007, taking players on a journey that’s spanned from the Shire to Mordor and beyond. And now, it’s time to celebrate.

The festivities are due to begin today at 10:00 am EDT, although the devs say that the 12th year gifts might not arrive until tomorrow. The anniversary festival is making a return with a new layer of scavenger hunts for those who have conquered all that has come before. Check out FibroJedi for your guide to this event.

In addition to this, the team released Update 23.5 overnight. The patch is mainly dedicated to a sweeping overhaul of the Burglar class, bringing it in line with other classes in terms of utility, survivability, and DPS. Other changes included some minor tweaks to Minstrels and Beornings as well as adjustments to certain crafted cloaks.
