Anything goes with the Fortnite narrative at this point, so why shouldn’t John Wick show up? His house has been on the island for about a week now, after all. And we all know that games-as-a-service means that the players are the products now, so why not have a little fun with the obvious advertising for the Lionsgate movie John Wick 3 opening this weekend?
Today, Lionsgate Entertainment and Epic Games introduced us to Wick’s Bounty, a limited-time event where the object of the match is to earn the most gold coins. Players earn coins by eliminating other players, duh. Every elimination will win you one gold coin plus the however many bounty points the target had with the top-three leaders appearing on the HUD. You have three lives to start and the first person to 1,000 coins wins the match. Of course, players have challenges that can also earn them rewards like the Gold Coin Back Bling, the One Shot Glider, and the Boogeyman Wrap.
No new mode in Fortnite would be complete without additions to the cash shop. Look for the John Wick Set, which includes a John Wick outfit (an official one this time) and a Simple Sledge Pickaxe.
