EVE Down Under: CCP drops EVE Online’s Invasion expansion trailer

CCP Games is out in force in Australia right now for the third leg of the EVE World Tour, and the topic of choice is of course EVE Online’s Invasion expansion. The expansion was only announced at the start of this month and kicks off in just a few days on May 28th, and this time around CCP is still keeping quite a few of the details under its hat.

We’ve seen big hints in-game that the mysterious Triglavian Collective is gearing up for war in it’s Abyssal Deadspace realm, and the Invasion expansion name is a dead giveaway, but there are still a lot of unknowns. This secrecy and the in-game hints are actually parts of a deliberate new drive at CCP to maintain the mystery surrounding major game updates, but some player theories were confirmed today with the reveal of the epic new Invasion expansion trailer.

Disclosure: In accordance with Massively OP’s ethics policy, we must disclose that CCP paid for our writer’s travel to and accommodation at this event. And if you actually flew ships like that, I’d never have stopped playing it, I’d be playing it all the time…sadly, thats not how the game plays at all….

Nice trailer
It’s just to bad the game doesn’t come close to playing like that.

Starting from ~2015 “expansion” shouldn’t be used without quotes when it comes to EVE. Language inflation is a thing, soon CCP will use “expansion” word for every single debug they’ll implement.

That trailer is adorable. “Oh shit I’ve got implants on this clone!”

It has both the fancy cinematic quality while still obviously being about players. I dig it. Also your disclosure got a good chuckle.
