EVE Down Under kicks off with a hilarious screwup in Sydney

EVE Down Under kicked off today (last night, for those of us in the US) in downtown Sydney, Australia, with a series of developer and player talks on everything from the art design process behind EVE Online’s ships to the upcoming Invasion expansion that is due to drop in just a few days on May 28th.

The event has gone off almost without a hitch so far, except for when the event t-shirts arrived and they had “Sidney” on them instead of Sydney. The funniest part is that the t-shirts were printed locally, so you would think that the printers would have noticed the error. In typical EVE style, everyone has just taken it in stride and laughed about it, and they are getting reprinted.

MassivelyOP is on the ground right now at EVE Down Under in Sidney Sydney, so keep an eye out for news and coverage from the event. Assuming the internet holds out here, we’ll also be joining the podcast to talk about some of the insanity that’s about to drop in the Invasion expansion.

Disclosure: In accordance with Massively OP’s ethics policy, we must disclose that CCP paid for our writer’s travel to and accommodation at this event. CCP has neither requested nor been granted any control or influence over our coverage of the event. I hear someone offered CCP $50 for one of the misprinted t-shirts.
