Even after watching gameplay footage and finding out its launch window, you probably have more than a few questions about Cryptic’s upcoming Magic Legends. That’s OK; we do as well.
There’s a chance that your innermost queries may be answered in the following video, in which Game Informer asked 75 quick questions to the devs, who answered them all in about seven minutes. “Is it good?” this hard-hitting journalist asks. “It’s really good,” Cryptic shrewdly responds. Well, that’s one question down.
A few pertinent details were confirmed in this video: Magic Legends is free-to-play, has 12 cards per character deck, has references back to the first year of Magic the Gathering, includes difficulty modes, there’s no death penalty, and will start with “triple digits” of cards. You’ll also be collecting and upgrading cards “all the time,” which sounds like a major progression loop for the game.
