Remember that “something secret” that Lord of the Rings Online promised would arrive today? Part of it may be a surprise for one of the game’s underperforming classes: Hunters are getting a big, fat DPS boost with Update 26.1. The class had been complaining for a while that its damage-dealing abilities had fallen behind the curve, especially compared to some other DPS-primary roles.
“Hunter DPS is being brought up,” SSG announced. “Skills that were lagging behind received the largest boosts, including melee, traps, and secondary bow skills.”
All three of the Hunter trait lines received adjustments, with quicker cooldowns and greater damage applied to several skills. Hunters who like to fight hand-to-hand and use traps will see those areas buffed, and the devs added focus generation to most melee attacks.
Update: The “secret” looks like it’s a hidden quest that was activated today. Don’t worry, the community is hard at work unraveling it!
