My name is might have been.

So here’s your surprise thing to look forward to in a couple of months: Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning. That’s a pretty awful title, but it does successfully convey the idea that the original Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning is getting a graphical overhaul and remaster, along with some updated game systems to boot. This is all coming from a Windows Store listing, so the details aren’t yet known on what this means for platform availability.

Those of you who don’t know why we’re talking about this single-player game would do well to look through the entire sad, mismanaged history of 38 Studios and Curt “I Get More Disappointing With Each Passing Year” Schilling. We knew that THQ Nordic bought the IP rights to Kingdoms of Amalur back in 2018 with a note that it was primarily for the IP, so this would be the first time those IP rights have gotten used since the purchase. Does this mean that we’re going to get ourselves Project Copernicus after all? Who knows, but hey, game remaster.
