Last week we reported that some fans are working hard to resurrect a playable version of Wizardry Online. As I wrote that piece, I couldn’t help but think about how most people might read that and go, “Huh? This was a thing?” because of the MMO’s brief lifespan and extremely niche approach.
But what always amuses me is that no matter how random or obscure an MMO is, there are always people who hold torches for those games — past and present. There are always fans who will burble over with excitement to tell you the virtues of what you’re missing out by not playing it.
Are you one of these players? Do you hold a torch for an MMO that everyone else seems to have passed over or dismissed?
Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
